In the morning, Bernie and I went for a walk to the Grand Place, the central square of Brussels. Not to far from our hotel, we stumbled across the Place des Martyrs, a memorial to those who died in Belgium's 1830 war of independence from the Netherlands. My camera battery died on the drive up from St. Vith, and I forgot my charger, so the next batch of photos was taken with my iPhone.
