| no partners | | I did half this hike with my family in the early fall. We stopped at Crystal Lake which is about 1.75 miles on the 4.5 mile trail. It was a warm day, with some cloud cover. The trail was fairly crowded, but not uncomfortably so. There were lots of switchbacks on this segment of the trail which might have been a bit annoying except the views of Lakes George and Mary were fantastic and got better as you got higher. Crystal Lake itself was a really nice surprise. Good hike and hope to get to the end next time I'm in Mammoth!
