| no partners | | Well, sitting out on my back porch staring up at the possible hikes I may do tomorrow...
Ortega Peak is the standard hike... 7659'... from my 4450' porch elevation. It is a nice warmup walk over to the trailhead, 2 miles across desert scrub and along the old aquaduct.
Goat Springs trail heads up to the top of the Mesa... a bit over 6,000' and the trailhead is just across the scrub, about 1.5 miles.
Quiet Canyon is directly across from my porch: about a mile.
Prominent Point is less than a mile across the scrub... a nice hike in itself, or the approach to Rockachucky to the Mesa or on up to Hersherberger Peak (7850')
Just south of Prominent Point is Alamo Canyon, the easy approach to Alamo Peak (9200')
The six different Marble Canyon hikes are just a mile and half away across the scrub... past Goat Springs trail.
The overly long ridgeline running along the eastern skyline of the city drops down to access level about 5 miles from the porch... I've hiked over, but probably better to drive over to T119 (the trail to Ortega) so the car will be there coming back down...
Beeman Canyon, Lost Trail, Mineral Spring Trail, Indian Wells trail... and a number of unnamed drainages and ridge hikes lie below that long ridge.
Lots of hiking options... have to decide which are best for in the morning.
