As you know if you've been to the Canyon, the vistas are simply incredible anywhere you stop and this is no exception. It was fun to take our time and photos as we enjoyed the wide open vista. I would like to be able to identify more landmarks so an interpretive sign would be nice but it was great nonetheless. There is definitely some remnants from the fire of 2000 including one blackened tree that is laid out across the edge of the canyon in front of you and another burnt stump that jets up from the ground.
There was also some varied flora along the path but it's mostly a wide open trek and on this day we could see a long way to the north and northeast. The most prominent point was Tritle Peak. |

For me, sometimes it's just as much about the journey as the destination.
Oh, and once in awhile, don't forget to look back at the trail you've traveled. |
