Spent some time at Thunder River relaxing and drinking the spring water. Continued on down to Upper Tapeats Camp Ground where we stayed the night. The next day we hiked down to the Colorado River and on over to Deer Creek Camp Ground. Of the two camp grounds I liked Deer Creek the best, we had some nice tree cover and the creek was not running as fast as Tapeats Creek. We did a day hike down to Deer Creek Falls where we got in the water and washed all of the sweet off of us, this made the trip for me, it was wonderful. We stayed the night at Deer Creek CG and the next day, Monday, we hiked out. I hiked with my dad and two of his friends and everyone made it with no problems. This made the 25th backpack into the canyon for my dad and my 5th, I have a long way to go to catch up. Overall this was a great hike and a great place to be on Easter Weekend, I got to spend it in the most beautiful church on the face of the earth! |
