| partners | | Yes, I'm posting this almost a year late... driving through this area a few days ago (7/28/12) brought to mind the numerous butterflies we had seen, but only when I couldn't locate the photoset on HAZ did I realize I posted a triplog of the drive but never did for the hike or photoset.
Once we reached the point it was a bit too rough to keep driving, we set off on foot for the Sixty-Six Ranch. Along the way we encountered a variety of insects including numerous butterflies and caterpillars, bones of long-dead cows, many interesting rocks, a variety of surrounding terrain as well a plenty of live cows. Of to one side we heard the loud bellowing of what sounded like an injured cow, which we sought to locate on our return trip but were not able to find where it came from.
If there had been a house at the 'ranch' there was no sign of where one might have been so we spent little time there before heading back.
