| no partners | | | I've been here several times over the last few days. Today we hiked north along the rim from the overlook. You soon enter a wonderland of awesome rocks, ledges, drainages. etc. We followed the rim to a large canyon entering from the side. I think this is called Nine Mile Draw, but I'm not sure. Anyway it is majestic. There are two branches. The nearer one can be followed to it's head, where you can look straight down (spectacular). The second is much longer, but you can easily pick your way to it's edge. At the edge of this my wife and I met a beautiful fox which nonchalantly trotted up the slope and ran along the ridgeline right in front of us for about 150 yards, one of the absolute best treats I have seen in the wild. Page rocks. |
