This hike is along a beautiful creek with lots of wildflowers and lots of mosquitoes make sure you bring insect repellent. It's about 1-1/2 miles to the rainbow trout hatchery and about a quarter mile further is the Apache trout hatchery. You can fish in the parts of the creek. There are signs along the way indicating where fishing is permitted. Gates are open from 5am to 8pm.
