| no partners | | I have been hiking South mountain for a long time and thought I would share with everyone the beauty this time of year. It is a good time for beginners to get out, 50+ degrees in the am. It has rained recently, so I took Cayenne my hiking companion/dog, a Cockapoo up the National trail into the Hidden Valley trrough fatman's pass, then down the path of the water falls back to the trail head. See map http://hikearizona.com/images/flashmaps ... inmaps.swf There has been lots of coyotes yapping it up, mating season perhaps, and Cayenne startled one  ,then we watched as it returned to a pack of 4 back in the bushes. It will become more and more spactacular with flowers as we get into spring after all the rain.
There are petroglyphs around as well if you hunt hard enough. |
