| no partners | | I arrived early and was first on the trail. By mid morning, despite the heat, many people were on the trail. The first few miles are heavily impacted by hikers' feet trampling the soil. We need more people to appreciate wilderness, but if more people visit the habitat that is the wilderness will suffer. I was doing a lot of nature photography and thus did not hike the full distance. For now the natural environment here is still healthy and a wonder to appreciate. |

Wildflowers Observation Moderate Some monsoon species were showing nicely. Cardinal Flower and Scarlet Gilia and Indian Paintbrush are three bright red ones seen. |
