i had the misfortune of hurting my foot on the last long training run of my preparation for this race. as a result, i suffered mightily throughout the whole thing. that being said, if i compartmentalize out that aspect, everything else about this was everything i wanted and signed up for. gorgeous and very demanding course. crux of the route was a 1000 foot climb in one mile to the highpoint of 10,400 feet at mile 16.5!! great organization and vibe. and the weather could not have been better. los alamos is a very nice place!
due to the combo of difficulty and foot pain, i had some really significant low points i had to work my way through. that is always good for me.
this was a GREAT event and i loved it. just wish the foot hadn't been such a major issue! |
