| no partners | | | Got lucky and managed to reserve a night at Gold Butte Lookout. It's about a 2.5 hour drive from Portland and well worth the drive. The fall colors are really starting to show. Views from the top were phenomenal- I could see Mt. Hood, Olallie Butte, Mt. Jefferson, Three Finger Jack, Mt. Washington, and the Three Sisters. Temps dropped into the upper 30s overnight but it never really felt that cold. Clear skies and zero wind, definitely surpassed my expectations. |
