I was in the area for work so…
Website says the main entrance opens at 8:00am in the winter months. Ranger pulled up at 7:59.
I got a map from him but he doesn’t stay at entrance booth. They leave you to self pay. He goes on to the ranch house visitor center and runs it. There is a double bathroom there but only one works albeit very clean.
I started at the Nature Trail and looped it with Wildlife Corridor Trail, Arizona Trail, and Manzanita Trail. Nice hike for solitude! Quiet! The trails are in rolling grass hills and in great shape. It looks like the were weedeated!

Except for a bird or two, I saw no wildlife on the wildlife trail. On the Manzanita trail I saw 2 Whitetail deer a red tail Hawk and then 3 more Whitetail deer later. Both times the deer were by washes with tree thickets .
Enjoyed the quiet time and rolling hills. The AZT portion had me reminiscing about all the good times we had hiking it 10 years ago or so!
The historic ranch house is cool too!!
Enjoyed checking it out and reading about the family!! Great trail weather and company.
