| no partners | | Doing my normal "Mega Church Loop" -- named after CCV on 19th Ave. -- around the AZ Canal, Sunnyslope and Moon Valley.
Incident #1: I play it by ear whether I take tunnels, or attempt crossing between traffic. Under 19th Ave., I dodge a camper. Climbing out, spot fat lady struggling up incline. Expecting her to stagger left, in front of me, I slow. Turns out she has an unleashed dog. Of course: "He's fine." Me: "No dog unleashed is fine."
Incident #2a and #2b: Only see one tunnel troll under Peoria, so down I go. As I pass, I get a whiff of something that is not weed. Hope it was not crack or meth. At Thunderbird, see tunnel troll waving arms. Decide to cross road. (Btw, riding further west on AZ Canal two days ago, TONS of urban campers in Cortez Park at 35th Ave., and saw at least two people shooting up.)
Incident #3: Always take tunnel under 7th St at Greenway Pkwy. Usually no trolls, and not much garbage. Already committed when I spot broken glass everywhere. Tried to avoid it. Couldn't. Crunched a shard. Thankfully, no flat. Then did shopping cart slalom past troll with blaring rap music.
Had to make pit stop at Lookout Mountain Park, which I normally pass by. Good thing I did, as the grassy area had some really nice vervain / verbena! |

Wildflowers Observation Moderate Really nice patches of vervain in grassy parts of Lookout Park. |
