triplog from a girl's point of view:
I also feel Rob did a very nice job on reporting the trip. I was a little skeptical about wondering into a Canyon with 5 gentlemen, but that is what they all were, gentlemen. I was also afraid I would slow them down, maybe at times, such as the chutes! When we headed down those chutes, I think my "F" bombs went off, "how do we get down that!" But I made it. It was cold, and windy, but the views were worth the trip. The Perfect Kiva took my breath away, literally! I was so pleased to see how the Native Americans lived. And thanks Rob for being such a great actor in my film of the "Perfect Kiva." I unfortunately was not able to get up to Jailhouse. The hike that day sucked up most of my energy. The first campsite was at a beautiful location, even though I tried to burn my self from my boiling water! I think that is why I kept warm that night. The next day hiking tested my hiking ability even more, I was scared of some of the heights we encountered, more "F" bombs. The winds picked up, and that night, my sleeping bag was going to be tested below it's degree level. I kept warm, even though it snowed. I have never camped in snow before, sure is beautiful to look at. The next morning we all "huddled" together to keep warm, packed up and headed to the Government Trail. Randal made me hike up to the top of some Petrographs? I forgot what they were called. I figured if "Hannah Montana" could do it, from the boy scout troop, so can I! I am glad I made it up to the top to see the pictures and got a group shot! When we hiked out of the canyon and I saw that red truck, I was delighted. Snacked on Doritos, if I was able to get it away from Chris, and had some Gatorade.
All in all, it was a great trip, with awesome views, and with a wonderful bunch of guys! Thanks guys!!!!
