Third year in a row to go see the four legged furballs out at Lake Pleasant. If you bring carrots with you this hike can easily turn into a petting zoo with a short hike attached. Saw only 7 burros this trip but that was enough to clean me out of the bag of carrots I brought.
Great views of the Hieroglyphic Mountains at the northern terminus of the trail. I have to get back out here to do the Walking Jim Trail again when my knee is better. I see the doc on Monday for a hyaluronic acid gel injection which hopefully will do the trick.
Great weather and temps, but the lake levels are so low as to be disturbing.  Saw several groups of tourists heading out in the heat as I was finishing up. Most had no hats or water. |
