| no partners | | A walk through the park. Got a late start and it was a hot day. Started on Hardrock trail which was in pine Forest and mostly shady, then Osborn Hill loop which was oak and sunnier. Got to the South end of the park and decided to follow the road until it ran out. Saw a beautiful house for sale with a spectacular view. Tempting. Then hiked back again on as slightly different route. Very hot by the time I got back to the car. I did not check out the visitor center with all the old mining equipment. Have to come back some time and visit it. Very nice area to hike. No real destination like a peak at the end of the trail, but very pleasant to walk through the woods. |

| no partners | | Outstanding collection of mining artifacts. This mine, the richest hardrock mine in California ran continuously from 1850-1956. Partial entry into the mine is included. Everything is just as it was-in the office areas journals and books are still on the desks. The adjoining trail system of fourteen miles is a joy with plenty of tree cover. |
