Compared to the other hikes we did in Zion this one was pretty underwhelming. The view at the end was interesting with more checkerboard-type mesas but the remainder of the hike was pretty bland with more ordinary forest sections.
We amused ourselves with sporadic snowball fights each time we came across patches of snow that we deposited by the earlier winter storm. This was entertaining (I don't think Victoria had made a snowball before).
Another notable item was that this location provides the access way to the Subway hike. So it was useful to get an idea where to go for that one should be get permits to do so at some point in the future.
If you are going to the Subway you will obviously need to take this route to get in. Otherwise it is not that notable of a trail, at least not compared to many of the world class hikes that Zion has to offer. |
