I was in Tucson to visit my family. We hadn't been to this park for many years. It is still pretty much how we remembered it.

We had planned to get to the park by 5, but a work-related issue kept Eloise and I from getting there until after 6. Needless to say, most of the birds were tucked in for the night, leaving only a few ducks to waddle and float about. Numerous bird calls were heard, but none that I recognized (I'm very new to this). A half dozen turtles were evident in the front pond. The air cooled down considerably near sunset as the breeze strengthened. We enjoyed the sunset as we finished off sandwiches we had gotten from Fortunato's Italian Deli on the way to the park.

i hadn't been to this park in nine years, and quite a bit has changed. there are quite a few areas that are off limits now, and there is much less water. you can no longer go down to the spring, and you can't walk all the way around the main pond. it's a bummer, but still a beautiful place to visit.

As I was finishing my run in Saguaro National Park I realized the clouds were set up for an optimal sunset. I decided to head home and grab my camera and head to Agua Caliente Park to photograph the sunset. Its so close to my house, I don't know why I haven't spent more time exploring the area...

Went around loop twice, as it is definitely not 3 miles for the whole hike. The loop itself is probably less than a mile itself.

Nice walk to get out, though calling this a hike at all is a serious stretch of the term.

Good that there is the pond and all of the birds; feed the ducks or they may take something out of your legs...

April Fools Day and I took my out of town friend, and ex wildlife rescue pals, on a hike around the grounds at Agua Caliente Park. I love this place. Bullfrogs and turtles were everywhere. Dragonflies, and tons of birds. The park has a whiteboard with all the species of birds that are found there. On the first of each month, they erase all the logs, so people can log the new birds seen for that month. Well, the three of us must have spotted 30 species of birds that morning and we got to spend a great deal of time marking them as found on the board! It was so nice to go out hiking with friends who also enjoy bird and nature watching!

Last hike of 2006 was an easy jaunt around two of the ponds with the dogs, the wife, and the father-in-law at Agua Caliente Park in NE Tucson. Beautiful afternoon, with snow still on the Rincons. Lots of birds.

I used to do this hike at least once a month when I lived in Tucson. It's easy and beautiful, loved to watch the birds.
