A nice way to round out a day up here if not grilling post hike. Food is better, but these views are still good. Had light rain on me just before I started, which was very unexpected.

Solo hiked this one for the first time. Wasn't sure why they called it Lizard rock. It does look somewhat like a lizard when looking down at it from Palisades rock. I also saw many black lizards near the very end of it. Steep cliffs on this one. Stay away from the edge!

Sierra and I took a trip up into the mountains to hit some of our favorite peaks.

First was Lizard Rock, which is probably our favorite. we did a better job navigating this time :lol: Beautiful summit as always!

Second we shot over to San Pedro Vista and went up Barnum Rock. It is hard to beat that view. We found another cool little pseudosummit type thing on the way back with more stellar views and rock formations!

we had been looking at lizard rock all day and Sierra wanted to climb it. we went at sunset. i will just make it simple by saying, i will take this memory to the grave. magical little hike with my girl.

i probably have a new favorite little summit up high too.

she was fired up afterwards so went went and climbed around on Sykes Knob/Inspiration Rock in the dark and watched the stars come out

Started driving up the Catalina Highway after work, hoping to play in the pines before the coming rain arrived. I can see Lizard Rock from work, and it appeared worthy of a visit this evening. Within 10 minutes of hiking I was standing atop Lizard at dusk, admiring the 360 view from on high. I had retreated and started walking the highway by the time the first showers hit. Time to head for home.

I went up to the top for Sunrise on 7/3 and for a dark night 7/6-7/7 - even though the highway is close and you can see/hear it this is a pretty cool place to hang out - great views and nice rocky top - surprised(/happy) that I have not seen anyone else in three trips with hours on top I have not seen anyone else...

Hiked up to catch the Sunset and the Moonrise - this is a very short hike - the rocky top of the formation has some great views and I was thrilled that there was not any trash up on the top (considering how close to the highway it is) - great small diversion, note the trail we used to go up was sandy/rocky...
