Start of Day 3 we hit this one up heading out of the park. Needing a leg stretcher, this one fit the bill and perfect temps to boot! Great views to the Montezuma Valley, the snow covered Uncompahgre National Forest and more to the NE and the Manti - La Sal National Forest to the NW.

Little diversion before hitting my favorite brewery in SW Colorado. Some pain in the bottom of my foot had me a little worried about the next couple of days with big miles planned.

The trail (old road grade) is OK I guess. Good views, that's about it. Not as cool as the name made it sound.

Dragged pumpkin leaving camp and totally missed the sunset, but the view was still great. Found a cell phone lying right on the trail and my friend was able to pick up a phone call from the owner who was waiting at the trailhead. Let that be a lesson that this is one of the best trails to lose your phone on in the park thanks to the reception.

Threw some Sigur Ros on the iPod and headed out for the sunset. Found the perfect rock and sat down for however long while the sun dropped behind the Abajo Mountains. Great way to end the day. Just a shame that my camera was dead.

Headed out right around sunset. Forgot to change into my hiking shoes, but it was a really mellow trail so it didn't matter. What a great view of the sunset! Even better were the massive cliffs behind my vantage point. The moon was shining bright once I got back around the cliffs. The park mentions this as a great sunset hike, and they aren't kidding.
