| no partners | | Was looking for a hike to do with my little girl on this windy day and found this one hanging out all alone on HAZ.
I'm very surprised that I'm the first triplog - was a fairly interesting location. Not much of a challenge, but didn't really need it with the 2 little girls. (We also took along my daughter's friend.)
We actually missed the loop BACK up top to the parking lot, which can easily be done if you start the loop clockwise. We ended up on a small trail that skirted the bottom of Griffith Tank and walked along the creek an additional 1/2 - 3/4 of a mile till we hit Griffith Springs Road, part of the Forest Highlands community. I would recommend anyone doing this hike to do the same thing (was really nice down along the bottom)....the bottom of hike only takes you to creek. Well worth hiking south along the creek at the bottom of the canyon.
Wind was blowing, but we could only hear it in the pines above. Nice to get out. |
