Excellent loop starting from the Carson Pass trailhead on Hwy 88. Went clockwise on good trails with lots of water, greenery and flowers. South a few miles on the PCT, then west on Summit City Canyon trail and back north past 4th of July, Round Top and Winnemucca Lakes. Also took a side trip up 10,381' Round Top peak.

A great challenging hike that goes deep enough into the wilderness to get a real wilderness experience. August is a great time in the Sierras, at least this year, no bugs. The hike is demanding on the return as you come up the 2 mile never ending incline. Saw no one else on this hike. I'll be back for more.
