Super fun canyon! We had a group of 9 and finished in around 7 hours (top of canyon to bottom) if I'm remembering correctly. The water was flowing enough for smooth sliding. First time doing this canyon so I have no basis for comparison of flow but the pools at the bottom of the slides were deep & tons of fun! First slide I got turned by the rock & went in a little sideways even though I had my legs spread like the veteran Watersliders instructed me to do. Honestly, I didn't even know that I went sideways until I saw the video. The second big slide was down a chute carved into the rock. There's webbing to use for positioning & then down the chute to the big pool. The third big slide (the one described on ropewiki as 30' =/-) was a little terrifying from the top. Some of our group jumped, some slid, some did both. I went down the slide. It looks like a weird angle slide from the top but the water directs you off a little lip & spits you off into the pool. It was so much fun & I'm really happy I decided to do that last slide! We all wore wetsuits. Mine was 5/4 & I think everyone else had the same. I also wore a paddling jacket over top to help with evaporative cooling & was comfortable all day. The anchors at all the rappels were in great shape. Oh and we got to see a Gila Monster crossing the road at the end of the day as we were driving back up from the bottom shuttle! EEE! So so cool! Perfect ending to a perfect day!

Originally had a more aggressive agenda, but was feeling a bit sore/scratched from the prior day, so we opted for something a bit easier. We followed the route down an old 4x4 road and explored around a bunch of old rusty stuff / ancient relics before heading over to the mines. We got to explore 3 different mines, but didn’t want to stay too long inside any of them due to chemical type smells. I believe it was the last one that went pretty far back a ways. We continued on past the mines to reach an upper viewpoint of the canyon. We thought the canyon looked really beautiful from above, so we headed back the way we came, then over to the top of waterslides canyon. We traveled in the canyon until the first rappel and just sat back and enjoyed the views. As expected, the canyon was completely dry. Webbing/anchors still in tact on tree at first rappel. Would love to come back and see this canyon after rainfall, as it was truly stunning. We headed back the way we came and headed back out to civilization. (We ultimately decided against a second night camping given the bone chilling evening/morning temps). The clouds were stunning on the long drive down the dirt road! We stopped at the bridge on the way back to enjoy a quick scenic pit stop to enjoy the clouds. Another great trip to the Anchas that left us curious to see more!

New Favorite!!! The water was flowing but barely, probably even better a bit earlier in the year. Anchors all good. Super fun sliding and jumping it's like the Salome Jug on steroids. [ youtube video ]

For sure a canyon worth doing, aside from a semi long shuttle setup you get a lot of canyon for the effort.

The flow is fairly low but all the slides were slide-able. bring a wind shirt.

OMG! For a Water Lover like me, this Canyon was a Dream come True...Rappels, some Downclimbing Practice, Scenery, and Natural Water Slides that would put any Water Park to shame... :y: Rappels will give you the Adrenalin, but the Slides were just Pure Exhilaration! :D Too bad I didn't get any Photos of the Sliding... :sl: Half the Fun of that Section was watching everyone else do it too...The Expressions and Water Entries were Priceless... :D Surprisingly, after the first Slide, a few People elected to Hike around them, which I didn't totally understand, since they were the Main Attraction, but I guess the Slides were just a little bit too intimidating for some...At least they were not forced to do them and could get around them...Even though I did them all, there was always a little Hesitation at the Top before I started down, just because it was a little intimidating looking down at where you were going to go and how fast you were going to get there...

Party of 16... :o  Needless to say, it took a few Vehicles to set up the Shuttle... The Shuttle sure made it Sweet though, no Uphill Hiking Required... :y: And it's a good thing we did it that way, with that many People this was an all day Affair, made even longer by a Snafu at the End... :sk: Left Camp at 8:30 A.M, got back at 9:45 P.M....

Incredibly short Hike at the Top before you drop into the Canyon and the 1st Rappel comes up pretty quick...Again, I was Belaying and on the Advance Team for most of the Top Section...a couple of the Anchors are a little "Spicy", but it was a great Experience for me...Some Downclimbing mixed in, along with some Boulder Hopping...And then, we were at the Slides in the Afternoon...Just an incredible amount of Fun there... :D Some People took Video, so those should be showing up at some point, it will be fun to watch it all over again...Just about the time we started doing the last 2 Rappels, the Sun disappeared behind some Clouds and it got a little Chilly waiting, but we warmed up quickly Boulder Hopping and Hiking down the rest of the Canyon/Wash to the Vehicles. We made it to that Point right at Sunset...

There were only 2 Vehicles at the Bottom, so they packed as many people as they could and left 5 of us there, with 1 Vehicle due to Return for us...After about 40 Minutes, it returned and we all got cozy packing in...The First Group had gotten dropped off at the Junction with 203A and surprisingly, when we got back to that spot, the Vehicles from the Top still hadn't gotten back there...It was now Dark, the Wind was blowing, and with some people being slightly damp and not dressed for those Temps, they started getting Chilled. When we arrived, we found everyone huddled together under 1 Blanket... It was understandable, as the Wind was getting with it a bit and cutting through everyone. I was still in my Canyon Shoes, so eventually having Wet Feet translated into my getting Chilled too. There was only 1 Vehicle, but we took turns sitting in it to get out of the Wind...By this Time, we knew that something had happened to the Vehicles up top, because it was taking way too long for them to get there... :( Finally one of the other Vehicles showed up and explained that one of the other Vehicles had a Flat Tire and the others had stayed there to help change it...We decided to load up the 1 Vehicle and get it sent towards Camp as some people had to get back...About 10 minutes after that Vehicle left, the other Vehicles' Headlights could be seen and it was a bit of a Relief...

Got back to Camp, took an Incredibly Hot Shower, unpacked my Pack to start getting everything drying...Everything I had got Wet...My Dry Bag failed, probably from my Pack being dropped 20+ Feet into the Water, numerous Times. Even with things being in Ziplocks inside the Drybag, it was too much and the Baggies Failed too... Phone, Wallet, Headlamp (which surprisingly still worked even though the Lens was full of Water. ) Took my Phone apart at Camp, but I think it's going to be toast... :sk: Time for a Canyon Keg I guess...Finally hit the Sack, exhausted, about 11:00...

Even with the last 2 Hours not being quite so much fun, this Canyon and this Day was a total Blast...This Canyon will be an Annual one for me, it was way too much fun to only do it once. Another Good Day in a Canyon... :y:
