A recent flash flood totally changed the once wide sandy beach here. The River and Canyon never stop changing. The first part of the hike is very easy. But the flood changed National, so soon you hit a very technical climb that once was easy because the stream bed was mostly filled gravel. Only a few brave souls continued up. I was not among them today. We watched most of the ascent as our crew and one other slowly worked from hand hold to hand hold over some fairly extreme exposure. It was entertaining to say the least.
