Very sweet hike. I decided to start a 17-mile hike a little later than many, but I had 2 motivations: 1) I'm not exactly a morning person; and 2) The photography is better in the late afternoon. Really had to hustle down, but that's cool. The only stretch that's a real grind is on the Landers Lake trail between Parker Meadow and the spur trail to the lake. Landers Lake was even more spectacular than I hoped, and the view off of the northern rim was the icing on the cake. This was a long hike, however, and I was still feeling it a little 2 days later. Of course Hop Valley Operation Vacation helped.

I love these mountains. Can't wait to get back, but it may be a while. Is it bad to drive 4.5 hours each way to go on a hike?
