I got the new version of the Boots and Burgers Book and this hike was in it. My grandson Isaac and I are going to try and do all the hikes in the book. It is spring break so I took Isaac and his friend to Goldwater Lake to do a little fishing then over to do a little hiking. We parked in the parking lot on the west side of the road. There is a pay kiosk ($5) and clean bathrooms. There is a section that comes under the main road and two other little sections we didn't do. The rest we checked off! Some cool rock formations here and the boys had fun exploring a lot of them. The intersections are marked and I had route scout to compare it to if needed. Cool area we all enjoyed! The burger place suggested ( Brown Bag Burger) is no longer open so we picked one from another hike in the book. A reminder, also when in these smaller towns some restaurants aren't open on Monday's and such when planning your hikes. We decided on Bill's Grill. A small place south of Whiskey Row. Good service, burger, and lemonade from a local! The boys got Cheese steak sandwiches they agreed were delicious! We all had a great day for our first trip planned around our Boots and Burgers adventures! Thanks gentlemen! Like HAZ, you rock!!
