About 10 minutes after we left the O'Leary trail and headed up the forest roads toward Robinson, we ended up on the wrong ridgeline (went northwest instead of southwest) and ended up on a smaller peak about 1/5 mile north of Robinson Mountain. We still wanted to summit Robinson, but rather than back-track, we continued along a forest road that went down and south, and then hiked off-trail up the western slope of Robinson Mountain. |
