The Monoloith Garden hike is located in the Cerbat Foothills Recreation Area north and west of Kingman. There are a total of four trailheads to access these hikes (there are six main trails). However, the way these trails criss cross and loop, hikers can easily choose any distance from half a mile up to probably twenty miles. The majority of these hikes do not have a lot of elevation gain or loss, the exception being Badger/Castle Rock. That one gains maybe 400 or 500 feet. Very easy to follow, well marked, and tons of friendly hikers/mt. bikers out there to assist. Watch out for rattlesnakes!

This trail is in the Boots and Burgers book. It's listed different in the book and from a different trailhead. It's pretty close to the 40/93 junction.
This hike has no shade to speak of and would not be fun in hot temps. The trail is in great shape. It's great for hikers, mountain bikers, and your imagination. With all the cool rock formations you could imagine desperado's around every corner :D . A fair amount of vegetation. I was surprised by how much Crucifix plant was out here. This seems to be a good one for locals. I saw 2 hikers with their dog and a total of 5 mountain bikers. 1 told me how to get to my planned lunch stop and 2 asked me for directions  . A fair amount of side trails so it's easy to get off your route. I had route scout so I was good and let them look at it to see where they needed to go.
From there it was off to redneck BBQ for lunch as the book suggested :y: . Nice way to finish the afternoon before the drive home. :D

Did a portion of this trail with Velva on way back from Las Vegas. Did the inner circle of Monolith Trail. (Looked at a board map after hike and discovered that there were 5-6 other sigments that make up Monolith Trail). Several other trails connect to this trail to make up Cerbat Trail System. Noticed that the Foothills Rim Trail was closed Nov. 24 until further notice. Lot of other options out there though. Trail was nice, looked like it would be ideal for biking. Met same group of hikers twice...they had lost their cell phone and were backtracking :( .

Some quail, but otherwise no wildlife.

I wanted to get one last hike in, before going back to Phoenix. Still sore from the Spirit Mountain, NV, I choose this area. There isnt a lot of elevation gain.
There are trails everywhere here. The loop listed on the site is a smaller part of the trail system. Not wanting to miss anything, I took every right I could. This turned out to be a lot longer than expected.
I drew a quick route that I took. The green area was probably my favorite spot. All the trails that I where on, where marked. So i didn't go off trail. The trail views changes every 15 minutes.

Fairly easy hiking, very quiet. I'll have to hike the longer loop next time!

There is no shade available on this hike but a cold front made for an enjoyable day at this altitude. Crisp clear skys.
