| partners | | The idea for this 3/19 to 3/23 (5 day/4 night) vehicle camping / hiking trip came about back in mid-January'18 when HAZ-ssk44 (Eric) located on Google Earth some very scenic and interesting exploration areas that further perked Oregon_Hiker and my interest.
This scenic, remote (with no cell coverage), historic, and rugged Arizona backcountry area has a lot to offer for solitude, off-trail hike exploring, and scenic 4-Wheel Driving. Due to its distance from the PHX area, it made better sense for us to plan a multi-day camping trip.

) offered very scenic views and a lot of historic miming and old ranching history (see Oregon_Hiker's triplog for that interesting detail). I particularly enjoyed the views of the Salt River, the near and distant views across the river of Gleason Flat, the huge White Mtn Apache Indian Reservation Land, and most of all enjoyed our ending, secluded Salt River destination for a most pleasant lunch break (for this area see my picset pics 5-9).
