Had the place to ourselves. Located pictographs and petroglyphs in this beautiful canyon

Work policy has switched, so we now get one day a month to spend hiking (instead of 2 hours every week). This means I can get out on longer trails that are further away from town. Today was the first day taking advantage of this. I thought there might be snow, but it held off until the evening and the trail conditions were great. A beautiful and easy hike down a gorgeous redrock canyon. The creek bed was dry and the little bit of residual snow on the ground was never an obstacle. We didn't go all the way to the river, since I've hiked that stretch many times, but we did hang out in the big alcove for a little while and explored the short slot canyon on the way back to the parking lot.

See guide. Great hike to see fall colors of the cottonwoods. We had the canyon to ourselves.
