The gorge was cut by the Radovna River and is unique in its hanging boardwalk-like pathway along the entire length, and the incredible clear rushing water over numerous falls, rapids, and erosion potholes. Only 1600 meters long, the out-and-back hike is highly recommended. My track will help you find the parking area; once in the gorge, you can’t get out. Rick Steves calls it the “poor man’s Plitvice”, but I think that’s unfair. It is a great, family-oriented easy hike to a fantastic natural phenomenon. Admittedly, Plitvice has lots of rushing water and waterfalls, but there is no distinct gorge like here. Make sure your camera has a charged-up battery before leaving the parking lot, because this place is tailor-made for multiple videos. |
