Got out on the trail right after work and it is finally light enough to do a decent stretch before it gets dark. Got back to the trailhead just barely ahead of the darkness and the threat of snow.

Finally the smoke has mainly cleared from the valley and the temperatures are dropped too. All in all, a nice evening for a quick hike. Took a new-to-me side trail up the bottom of the wash to a wrecked car. I think it might be a social trail but my hiking partner told me it was kosher. Either way it was quick and pretty. Felt good to be hiking again after the heat and fire.

Decided to get back out into a canyon and put some more miles on while checking some other trails. Basically followed Tuesday's route but moved a bit faster by myself and I also hopped up on the Miramonte Rim trail instead of staying on Klunker. As soon as I got on the rim it started drizzling, but it was actually pretty enjoyable with the rain. Got a bloody nose somehow near the middle of the rim and it didn't stop until I was on Holy Cross. Thank goodness I had some TP stashed in the pack! I think next time I'll do Klunker to Miramonte Rim and complete the rim loop, then cross over on Bunker. Probably will be about the same mileage but will help complete my mental map - and the map/descriptions here.
