This peak has been on my "to do" list, but the short distance of the hike makes it hard to justify making the long drive just to do this peak. So we decided to hike it on the way back to Kingman after hiking/climbing up to Mount Wilson.

The dirt road into the trailhead was in good shape, although I have read that wasn't always the case. It got a little steep and rocky in the last mile, but is no problem at all for a 4WD vehicle. I think that an AWD SUV could make it, but I am not 100% certain of that.

The hike up is an easy class 1 walkup, and was much, much easier than our earlier hike to Mount Wilson. There were no trees or anything else blocking your views, so that was nice. We mostly walked along a ridgeline, and there were nice views all the way. The Colorado River was down below to the west, and you could see Lake Mead off to the norh.

At the summit, I located the benchmark and 2 reference marks, along with height of light remnants. I did not see an azimuth mark, if there was one.

This is a fun little hike, and if I lived in Dolan Springs I might go up there every now and then. But as it is, I doubt if I will make the long drive up there again for such a short hike.
