Took the fat bike out to do some exploring this morning. Jumped on the FINS power line at 185th Ave and headed west. Crossed Rainbow Valley road followed some jeep trails up into the hills. After some pushing up and sliding down gnarly rocky terrain, I continued west around the hills on the flatter desert. Ran in to a woman at the bottom of the hill, she didn't speak english, I don't speak spanish, so we faked a conversation for a bit with a lot of head nodding and both went on our way. Followed more desert and farm roads between Rainbow Valley and Tuthill. I was on Maricopa trail for a bit and barely missed a coiled up rattlesnake. I stopped for some pictures and the snake never moved an inch, which is just fine by me. Eventually got to the gas pipeline road that goes through some new community development construction on the way back to FINS.

Great cloud cover this morning for a gravel bike ride in the neighborhood! Did a loop through Cantamia, lots and lots of people out enjoying the morning. Graveled it up on Sunrise trail, Corgett Wash, and FINS. Washed the bike when I got home, it's gotta stay pretty.

I was battling vertigo for a couple of days this week. Was feeling better so I jumped on the bike for an easy ride around Estrella Mountain Ranch trails. Started in FINS, took Maricopa/Sunrise trail over to EFHS, then Corgett Wash, Mulligan, Westar Hill, Lum Wash, back to FINS. Everybody was out walking their dog this morning. Saw one other biker on Corgett wash and a hiker on Mulligan.

Ample cloud cover inspired me to jump on the bike and hit the trails this morning. Even with an 88 degree start, riding in the shade was awesome! Saw 1 hiker on the trail near Proposal Pass.

July is finally starting to heat up, not that I want that, but I sure was enjoying the lower morning temps while they lasted. Started on FINS this morning and headed over to the Pirate trails, then GNODS, and back home. Had the trails to myself.

I was feeling pretty laggy this morning, but it was so nice while I was walking the dog, I felt compelled to take the bike out. Crossed the street to Muriel's Mile and headed up to the Hub, down Kim's Climb, Up Bearclaw and down Hurts Donut back to Muriels Mile. Then east to Northeast Extension, over to Entrance, Joey's Jaunt, Rusty Rake, Wayne's World, Jim's Hike a Bike up to Grunt, down to RIP, Upper Rita's, Connie's Causeway out to the powerline and home. Didn't see anyone on the trails, but did see my neighbor Dale on Chuckwalla Canyon. Some washed out sections of trail from the recent rains. Most noteably, Hurts Donut that I just did maintenance on, wah wah.

Took the fat bike out to the sandy roads and washes of the Estrella Foothills. Made my way to the southern fenceline of Estrella Mountain Regional Park and followed that east to the Estrella Mountains. Wandered around the base of the mountains for a bit then worked my south to the powerline and followed that back to GNODS trails. Took the easy way home from there. Say one MTB rider on FINS trails and 3 dirt bikers passed me on the powerline road.

Went out for a steamy spin on the mountain bike this morning around Estrella Mountain Ranch. Started from FINS, over to Foothills Community Park via Maricopa trail and Sunrise Trail, then Corgett Wash, Mulligan, Westar Hill, and Lum Wash back to FINS. A spin around FINS and back home.

Did some wandering around on the fat bike this morning. Started in FINS, Lum wash north across Elliott road to Gila river, spin around on some of the Cisco trails, Corgett wash to Estrella Foothills Community Park, Sunrise/Maricopa trail back to FINS. Temps in the low 80's and humidity over 50% to start. Didn't see any other bikers on the trails. Some dog walkers on Lum and Corgett washes.

Wasn't planning on riding this morning, but I was feeling restless and it wasn't that hot yet, so off I went. Worked my way around the neighborhoods and eventually ended up on Sunrise trail over to the Estrella Foothills Community park where I picked up Corgett Wash over to the Lakes. Around the Lakes then out on Hopi to Westar, then cut through FINS back to home.

Fat bike Father's Day ride this morning. Comfortable temps to start and desperately hot to finish. Finally got over the coughing from this two week old cold, but still haven't recovered my endurance. Started in FINS, took Lum Wash over to Cisco Trails, D-Votion, behind Safeway, cross Estrella Parkway, Pirate trails, Maricopa trail back to FINS. Saw some bikers and hikers on FINS and two hikers on D-Votion.

Still waiting for this stupid cold to go away, but managed to find the motivation to go for a spin, even before having coffee! Started from FINS (because I didn't feel like driving somewhere else), rode over to Estrella Foothills Community Park on the Maricopa trail (Sunrise), then Pirate trails - Park Ave, Rum Runner, Jolly Roger, Doubloon, Park Ave to the EMRP Iron Ranger, then down to GNODS trails for a loop and quick way home. Saw 5 mountain bike riders and a few couples out walking their dogs.

Easy loop around FINS. Found a water bottle on Upper Rita's. Still recovering from a cold last week, felt like I was dragging a 100 pound weight behind me. Saw a couple walking their dog, a MTB pusher with 3 dogs, and a MTB'r on a Specialized.

Concerns about rain coming in from the south influenced my activity decision this morning. Ended up jumping atop of the mountain bike and riding out of the garage to FINS, over to Pirate trails, then Corgett Wash, Mulligan, Westar Hill, and Lum Wash back to FINS. Had the drizzles for the last 15 minutes or so. Saw some hikers and bikers out and about.

Nice overcast morning! Took the fat bike out for a quick spin on FINS trails. Rode Bearclaw, definitely better since cleaning it up yesterday. Need to get out an work on Grunt. Seeing lots of activity on RIP. There was a group of 5 or 6 hikers wandering about.

Out wandering around this morning on the MTB. Started in FINS and took the Maricopa trail over to the Community Park, then Tortuga Island, Scurvy Spine, Bootlegger, Jolly Roger, Doubloon, Park Ave to the EMRP Iron Ranger, Cantia Mia Causeway to GNODS, Big Kahuna, then south and west through the fields back to Maricopa trail (Dogbone) and back to FINS.
