Radmila got a gig adjudicating a piano competition at NAU, which necessitated an overnight stay. We planned this trip with the idea that we would go up Friday, making a 3 day weekend or of it, and do some hiking. The first day we had planned to hike from the Canyon Vista Campground to Fisher Point. On the way up that morning we knew that wasn't going to happen with all the rain and lightning everywhere. It was about noon when we got there and the rain was steady, as well as the thunder. We ate lunch in the car and opted for an early check in to the hotel.

By about 3 the rain had let up so we decided to venture out. Little America has a trail system right there, which made driving unnecessary. I saw that their trails connect with the FUTS system by a few dirt roads so we started to check some of that out.

We made our way over to the Foxglenn Trail and stated to hike some of that. It's mainly a wide trail the size of a road, but no tire tracks. We didn't get too far before we encounter an inactive heavily excavated construction site that engulfed the trail making it impassable. From the looks of the water and sewer pipe my guess is a subdivision, but we also saw markers for golf course holes.

We walked a bit more, exploring some jeep roads that dead ended or circled around and then headed back to get dinner. We were happy enough to make due and salvage the day with a few miles and a little exploration.
