I did this hike on a warm summer day on Grand Island. My Dad started with me and ended up doing a round trip of 1.5 miles. I continued past the bridge and down to the end of the peninsula on the Niagara river. I found some black raspberries and ate a few of the ripe ones. Some were not ripe yet.

Walked with Kim to end of peninsula. It was her first time walking out there. We saw a few walnuts, berries, a few frogs, 1 toad, and a few grass snakes. We also saw someone catch a pretty large fish, maybe a carp, about 1.5 feet long.

Did this walk with Ed starting around 3:30 pm. The weather was pretty nice. We saw some boaters on the Southwest side of the peninsula and chatted for a bit. We also found a walnut tree near the shore and picked a few. The nuts were not completely ripe but tasted OK. I forgot how much the walnut fruit stains the hands. I think I washed my hands 5-6 times since then and they are still not clean.... After the hike, we met my Dad at the Beach House restaurant nearby and had dinner. I had the grilled reuben sandwich with fries and it was absolutely fantastic!!

Hiked this short loop with my Dad. Through the woods to the North G.I. bridge, South along the highway, then East back to River road and along the road back to the trailhead. If there was more time, I would have hiked to the peninsula and back. I'll do that another day.

Did this solo hike in Buckhorn State Park and found 3 geocaches along the way. Temp was around 60 with some wind. Colder than I wanted it to be for wearing shorts and a T-shirt.
