| no partners | | We got to Lassen around noon, and decided to tackle Brokeoff Mountain near the south entrance before heading up into the rest of the park. We saw a couple other people on the trail, but not many-- the benefit of visiting on a week day! The views from the top were fantastic, well worth the time! |

| no partners | | With the trail to Lassen closed for maintenance, I went for the next best thing: Brokeoff Mountain. The cliffs and views of Lassen make this a great place to visit. The trail reminded me of Humphreys as it switchbacked closer to the peak. On top, it was a little hazy looking towards Shasta, but otherwise the 360 was magnificent. I decided to check out two of the other points along the summit ridge on the way down. There's some good exposure up there! |
