| no partners | | The air quality has been quite poor in Redding due to the Carr fire, so I've been staying indoors a lot. Today I drove to Lassen National Park to escape the smoke and went on this fantastic trail I hadn't visited yet. The waterfalls were gorgeous and my favorite part of the trail followed right along some cascading falls. It was awesome to do something active outdoors again, and I'm looking forward to cleaner air in Redding once the wildfires are over. Unfortunately, the fire passed through almost all of the mountain biking trails in Redding and many of the hiking trails. It may take a while to re-open the trails. Here's to hoping we get some rain soon to stop the fires, but not too much so the trails don't erode away this fall since the vegetation is gone.
After taking a look at photos from AZLOT69 from 2009, the falls and other views look very similar now compared to 9 years ago. The trails have certainly been improved, they are very well-built-- now with good stairs along the part that was previously described as a bit difficult to pass. There is also a nicer railing at the Kings Creek Falls viewing point. |
