Hiked to Rice peak from Oracle ridge trailhead with Brian and Jim, stopping also at Marble Peak along the way. See my triplog for Rice peak for distance, AEG, time, etc.

The high temp in Summerhaven today was supposed to be 81 or 82 but it felt much hotter at times on Oracle ridge. There wasn't a lot of tree cover the entire day. I finished an entire gallon of water with about a mile left in the hike, luckly it was after 6 pm when I ran out. On these very hot days when the hike is over 10 miles, I found that I need more than a gallon. As for the hike, it was all good trail and some roads. I thought there would be a small bushwhack in the end, but there was a road that went all the way up to Rice peak.

Total AEG with Marble peak and Rice peak was 2,700.
Total distance all day was 12.15 miles.
