From the starting point, enter the wide canyon and continue Northwest for roughly 0.9 miles. The canyon will close in quite a bit. You'll see some rocks placed across the canyon where a trail branch off to the right. The trail climbs out of the canyon and continues for 0.4 miles until it reaches an old 4x4 road. There are some cairns along the way and this trail is in pretty good condition. I did see one area on the trail where there was a lot of cholla. I simply hiked around it. When you reach the 4x4 road, there's a T-junction and several cairns there. Make sure you look for this on the way down. Turn right at the 4x4 road and continue for 0.55 miles. The road will climb up and then level off near the base of Brandenburg Mt. You will exit the 4x4 road on the left side and climb the slope from here. From the point that you exit the road, you should have roughly 0.75 miles to get to the peak.
Stay right of the rocky area. One you get on the top of the ridge you will see the summit. You'll see a lot of shindagger, ocotillo, and some prickly pear. It's fairly easy to weave around this stuff because it is not so thick. At the summit, you'll see a registry in a rock pile at the high point.

If you continue to the far East end of the summit, you will able to see some great views looking out. In mid-December, I was able to look down into the canyon and see a lot of nice foliage, greens, yellows, browns, and some reds. Looking North you will see many vertical cliffs with many different colored rock formations. The views are something like the Grand Canyon on a much smaller scale.
