| no partners | | | I got off work a couple hours early, so the intention was to go do Chimera (5.9, PG13) to fill in the hours. Ryan and I got up as far as the base of the Monk before feeling raindrops, so reassessed the situation, took a good look at the storm cloud before us, and decided it would be prudent to bail. Rappelled back down and then ran down the rest of the trail to the cars. Figured a good alternative was to hit Papago for beers and a pretzel. Oh, Two-Hearted, you never tasted so good! Bonus: didn't need to have an Epic to enjoy a little extra time outside! |

On the eastern descent via Cholla, a few people were stung on the face and arms by bees once they began to mistakenly swat at the little feisty Anthophila. Somehow I was mixed up in their bad decisions that could have been much worse. At least she'll only have a puffy face for a few days.
