 | Toprope | 5.9 | Toprope | | 1 Pitch | 60 ft | | | we've been talking about climbing time zone wall for a few months
today was the perfect choice with cool temps, brilliant blue skies and the cottonwoods just starting to turn yellow
i was here with an AMC outing many years ago and thought the approach was longer
access is off the watson lake circle trail, which may not have existed at the time
most of the routes are mixed trad and sport, but we were able to set topropes for each
the top of the wall offers a gorgeous view of watson lake and the surrounding area north of prescott
such a nice setting with sailboats and kayaks out on the lake
watson lake would make for a great four sport weekend: climbing, kayaking, hiking the circle trail and biking the nearby peavine trail
hmm...
the routes are not difficult, the belay area is relatively smooth and there are ledges for your stuff, a lunch break and general lounging
this would be a good place to take someone new to climbing outdoors
a lot of fun even though we didn't do any sport leads
john did one mixed trad/sport lead, using two bolts and setting two pieces of gear
found a great place for dinner in dewey or one of those towns along 69: leff-T's

thanks for driving, john
great day outside and on the rock |
