Pretty nice canyon and I enjoyed it, but it didn't feel that hard. Had to take in Hershberger to round things out. The approach to that wasn't bad at all from the west, and the summit was fine, but the views are not 360 degrees. You get most of them, though. I would probably only do Hershberger from the canyon, or this side, and not the A trail, and I feel that once or twice a year is fine for Hershberger. Ortega is easier and has better views. Blanca was nice looking and has some snow on it. Coming down it got cold in the shadows. I want summer!

Really nice day to enjoy this canyon/ridge loop hike... timed it to end as the sun set... making it a bit too cool for some of the others; perfect for me. There were a couple of newbies along (from the Las Cruces Meetup group)... everyone did great! This remains my favorite fun day hike!

Jim, Yubao and Timmie got to score a new peak... not one of my favorites...

I got to surf a fractured rock slab that broke away under me... unfortunately right into Tim's leg! I'm home now extracting all the cacti that went along with that fall. Better me than any of the others; I bounce well... and, am nerve dead.

Supposed to be a simple hike up Marble Canyon, but having a new hiking partner 20 years my junior spun it out to a bit of peak bagging... first Hershberger Peak, then cross country over to Ortega Peak... I'll either get back into shape or go to pieces! She is tough, and looking for ever harder weekend outings!

Of course, I also had a ledge break away under my foot on one of the climbs in the canyon... got lucky and shifted weight to a great hand hold. Could be I won't have to worry about getting back in shape...?

fun day up the canyon... got some more opinions about this hike from a couple of folks from ElPaso... everyone seemed to have a nice day out. Unfortunately, I have chicken pox and energy a bit off. (...this was probably not what was in mind with the bed rest suggestion?) I am sort of achy all over... and there is all that torso pain, but out on the trail it just feels normal. Guess I should take a few days off. Hopefully, this will not mess up my travel plans!
