Wanted to head up to Panther Creek and the Indian Heaven Wilderness, but the Eagle Creek Fire has jumped the river and is now burning in Washington too, so I headed south instead.

I'm surprised its taken me over 4 years to make it out here. Really not a bad drive at all, probably took about an hour and a half and that was leaving during rush hour traffic. The last couple miles are rocky and slow going, but not bad at all. Hiked down to the base of the falls first and took in the view, beautiful amphitheater and massive waterfall. Afterwards I hiked back up to the road and found the approach trail to the top of the falls. Set up my gear and rappelled down just after sunset by headlamp. Fun times!

Short trip from the upper trailhead to the falls. A little too crowded by 11 a.m., next time I'll have to get an earlier start. Water temperature in the creek was great for swimming! A little cold, but refreshing.
