Kidney Lake attempt, take two. Dot and I gave Kidney Lake another try after getting rained out earlier in the week. This time it was a success.
We hiked into Camas Lake first, although not on purpose, as I had missed the spur trail to Kidney Lake on my way in. The spur trail to Kidney Lake starts approximately three-tenths of a mile before Camas Lake and is obscured with a little deadfall to avoid confusion with the main trail.

The trail up to Kidney Lake is a little primitive for the first couple tenths of a mile, but then it becomes a relatively good trail with an easy to follow tread. Kidney Lake was a scenic little lake and the more scenic of the two lakes in my opinion. After a quick dip at the lake for Dot, we returned the way we hiked into Camas.

The plan was to hike up to Kidney Lake, but we got rained out around the second mile. If we had to go to the lake we could have persevered, but there was no need to get soaked. It had been a nice morning walk for Dot up to that point anyways, so I called it and we headed for a plan B. Our plan B also got rained out, but no complaints on my part, the mountains always need rain and I am on no set schedule.

This was a pleasant hike along well maintained trail, to include two bridges along the way. The lake is a nice reward for the amount of effort needed to get there and there are some stretches of good scenery along the way. Camas creek was raging and the trail was a little soggy past the second bridge. A nice gentle grade for most of the trail.
