road trip with sue, starting with wind cave national park
had been there with family at least 50 years ago
we started at the visitor center
no cave tours due to a missing elevator part
we did the one mile prairie vista nature trail after a stroll through the visitor center
drove up to rankin ridge for a hike up to the lookout tower
this was the best of the day, wish it was longer
next we hiked the wind cave canyon trail, a slight downhill through a pretty canyon to the park boundary
thunderstorms building to the north
we ended up staying in our koa cabin another night, but went to elk mountain campground to set up the tent to show occupancy in the campsite
hiked the little nature trail while there
very pleasant hiking, with the best views from the rankin ridge lookout
