Hiked from Hoyt Arboretum parking lot via Oak Trail to Wildwood Trail into Pittock Acres Park and the Pittock Mansion, then descended down Wildwood to the Stone House (or "Witch's House"). Turned around there and hiked back the same route until we reached the Redwood Trail, then hiked it to Fir back to the car.

Great hike in Forest Park, one of the U.S.’s largest urban forests. Went with Sarah, Deborah, and Patrick. Nice cool day on a largely shaded trail. Well developed and maintained. Somewhat comparable to Shaw Butte Trail.

A group of us took a bus to the Pittock Mansion in Forest Park, overlooking Portland and the lower Willamette Valley. We explored the grounds before heading down the Wildwood Trail. This is an unapologetic tourist route and was used appropriately. So much so that we only hiked it downhill, with the bus meeting us at the bottom to shuttle us to our next stop at Ex Novo. Who could complain about that!?

Sometime I'd like to cover the full length of Wildwood, and wouldn't mind going uphill either! It's my second visit to Forest Park, and it's a central city gem!

The Wildwood trail is one of the most popular trails in Portland. The park is located near the confluence of the Willamette and Columbia rivers. Very nice trail system. Ron and I did a loop with the Aspen trail and one or two others. Started and ended at Pittock Mansion. Very cool place.
