Don't worry this is the last of the Bitterroot spam. I completed this hike on my last day in the Bitterroots and it proved to be a good one. A couple of nice waterfalls along the way and the lake made for an excellent end destination.

The hike starts in a thick forest, but the trail opens up pretty quickly as you contour high above Lake Como and make the steep descent to Little Rock Creek. Around mile two you start to get within sight and closer ear shot of the robustly flowing Little Rock Creek. However, for most of the hike you are not close to the actual creek. The trail crosses several nicely flowing side drainages as you climb towards the lake and keeping the feet dry became a challenging task. The final mile, or so to the lake gets a little steep, as you climb up a series of shelves to on your way to the lake. There was a little more deadfall, as we neared the lake, but I imagine by the end of the summer, most of it will be cleared, whether by locals or a designated trail crew. There were some nice openings in the forest we traversed through as well during the final stretch to the lake; these openings offered some nice views of the steep walled drainage. A final waterfall greets you right before the lake, however, most of the creek is a series of cascades and proved scenic. Although, access to the creek along the trail is generally not great due to the thick forest, brush and downfall. After enjoying the lake and taking a quick break, we returned the way we hiked in.

This trip brought me to just over 250 miles covered in the Bitterroot Wilderness since my first visit to the area in 2018.
