| no partners | | Final day in HI. Friends left earlier in day than myself. So I went with our host, a girl he knows + her BF visiting from Switzerland. She chose the hike and had done it quite a few times. Had to park at one TH & then Uber to this 1. Parking more than 2 hours=tow.
Took lots of pics early on. Beauty unseen in the desert. Once you turn toward the falls, you begin a descent through scratchy overgrowth on both sides of you. We took a shortcut but the steep & slippery surfaces caused two others hard falls.
Ahhh, waterfall, swimming and potential cliff diving. Chilled there for a while but at 5 pm I suggested we head back. The one who lives on the island with the previous experience here struggled the most. Saw barely anyone out there. Went straight to the airport and flew home visibly filthy.
Landed at 6:30 am to work at 9:30 am. Made full use of my 1st vacay since 2016. With the set up there and the many hiking opportunities, a return could be in the cards. |
